This lifelike Boehm bisque porcelain bird figurine has been modeled in the form of a male Cardinal. The dramatic piece captures the bird in the split second before it alights on a hollowed-out birch tree. As seen in the accompanying photographs, particular attention has been given to the detail and decoration of the Cardinal''s distinctive plumage. The bright-eyed Cardinal''s wings are fully spread with the tips of the feathers curled up. The bird''s feet are thrown forward in preparation for landing with its sharp claws ready to grip the surface of the tree. The birch tree is also quite detailed with a realistic appearance.
